These are quite an interesting take on a classic lifter with Crossfit in mind. The toebox is definitely wider than Nike, but considerably less stiff. There’s a lot more flexibility in these compared to a traditional lifter. There’s also noticeably less heel lift. I think for an Olympic PR or an extremely heavy squat, I would not wear Tyr. I just did a metcon with overhead squats, lunging and rows, and they performed great. Anything with speed and lifting is in the wheelhouse. I wear a 12.5 which they do not offer, but the 12 fits perfectly because of the wider toebox. I think if you can get them on sale they are worth a go.

Really enjoy the feel of these lifters but ended up needing to exchange for a smaller size. Normally size 8 running/training shoe but felt that it was too big.

First off go Have size bigger than what you wear normally. After reading most reviews saying to do so I pulled the trigger and did so also. I wear a 10M, bought 10.5 and fits perfect. The wide toes feel great no crunching of the toes with narrow lifters. The 2 strap makes stability feel good and the lifters are flexible. Weight wise I feel no difference from them and the R4’s
