Barbells For Boobs: Channeling The Power Of A Community To Save Lives

Every October the Pink comes out in full force in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month; but the fight to find a cure is a 365 day 24/7 struggle, and so many organizations and individuals have stepped up in their efforts all year long.

In recent years the CrossFit community has taken on a huge role in the fight, and Barbells For Boobs has emerged as a leader and inspiration. As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization they are dedicated to the early detection of breast cancer, with an emphasis on women under the age of 40 and men.

Through individual and corporate donations, and fundraiser WODs through local CrossFit boxes, they have raised enough money to serve 14,316 individuals and provide 26,632 procedures, which have resulted in 172 detections.
